Jannik Ophey.

Author. IT. Worldbuilding.

I write cyberpunk from the perspective of someone who thinks in systems: close to technology, but always focused on identity, memory, and control. Between apprenticeship, manuscript, and visual workflows, Megaplexia keeps growing.

/01 — Dossier

Not just an author.

My stories grow from two directions: a love for dark, atmospheric worlds and a real interest in how systems work. Networks, infrastructure, documentation, and security thinking are not background noise to me, but material.

That is why Megaplexia is not just scenery. The city is a system: corporate power, shadow zones, sub-levels, data flows, manipulated memory. Nullskin Protocol is the first published entry into that world.

I write about control because it appears everywhere: in technology, in relationships, in memory, in the question of who has access to you. Jannik Ophey · worldbuilding note
/02 — Process

Three tracks.

Writing, IT, and visuals are not separate lanes for me. They feed each other: a network diagram becomes story logic, an image becomes mood, a scene becomes a systems question.

/A

Author

I build tension through atmosphere, control, and consequences. Characters do not move through sets, but through systems that apply pressure.

/B

IT systems

Apprenticeship as an IT specialist for systems integration: infrastructure, servers, networks, documentation, and processes. It makes technology in my stories more concrete.

/C

Worldbuilding

Megaplexia grows visually and narratively: places, factions, characters, posters, campaigns, digital experiments, and small details that matter later.

/03 — The path · nine stations

Trace Log.

Not a CV as a table, but the trail behind it: creativity, technology, loss, discipline, and the moment an idea became a published book.

Primary school years Creative streak

Drawing, sketching, little worlds

Early creativity: sketches, comic panels, first short stories. Invented worlds and characters with friends, tried visual storytelling. Spark of tech interest.

Gymnasium transition Story & tech

Crime, horror, thriller

Storytelling deepened: crime, horror, thriller, action. Interest in tech grew through everyday life and my father (IT security). First self-organisation: logs, notes, concepts.

Interests: software, hardware, systems Genres: suspense & action

Laptop, engine, Blender

First own laptop, entry into Unity/Unreal and Blender. Discovery that stories can come together visually, technically, and interactively: simulations, procedural worlds, digital art.

Programming & hardware

First Python steps, tinkering projects, and growing understanding of electronics and system design. In parallel, more complex worlds and the first Megaplexia ideas emerged.
